Yo Gabba Gabba is a unique show in and of itself. It has great appeal to a multitude of people and spans many culture, languages, and barriers. But what makes this show so amazingly popular? Is it the live action puppets? Or the indie rock music? Or those cool 8 bit looking graphics? It’s a combination of all of these things and more.
The Yo Gabba Gabba Live Show toured 55 cities and performed 130 shows in 2011. Not bad for a show that’s already in its fourth season. Usually it takes at least 20 years for a brand to catch on to all age groups. Not only has this show caught the attention of preschoolers, toddlers, and adults alike, but it’s caught the attention of 20 and 30 somethings.
The show also has many retro elements in it, making it look like a show from the 70s. Retro is back in style and so is Steve Urkel. This day and age it’s cool to wear just about anything, especially if it’s mismatched. Perhaps that’s why adults and hipsters everywhere are embracing their inner child and rockin’ the Yo Gabba Gabba shirts. Click on the link and then select “adult” under the “clothing” tab. We also have styles for your little tike too. You can even put their name on it.
Amtrak is celebrating its 40th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, they’ve assembled a special train which includes displays of old memorabilia like uniforms, photos, and china. The train will be traveling through various parts of the United States. If you are interested in seeing the train, be sure to click here for the schedule to see if it’s passing through your area.
The Exhibit Train will feature a special Chuggington play area for your little ones. Your children will be super-excited when they see it! It might also be a good idea for your child to work on his or her BADGE QUEST ahead of time so that they will be prepared when they go to see the train. What is the Badge Quest, might you ask? The Badge Quest is a series of stories and challenges which allow parents and children to interact. Children accept challenges, and upon completion of the challenge, receive a badge. There are several different opportunities for challenges and badges, which makes it fun and exciting for all. This opportunity is perfect for preschool aged children.
We at Ty’s Toy Box are also excited about Amtrak’s 40th anniversary celebration, and have an awesome selection of Chuggington toys, including trains, to help you celebrate! We also have clothing items that you can personalize with your child’s name on it. Who knows-maybe they can even wear it to the Exhibit Train.
The Wild Kratts, also known as the Kratt brothers, or Chris and Martin Kratt, are really awesome. They love studying and hanging out with animals. To better understand the animals the brothers have their friend, Aviva, make animal suits from the animals DNA. This allows the brothers to be closer to the animals and experience everything that the animals experience. For instance, to better understand flight patterns of Monarch butterflies, the Kratt brothers take Aviva for a ride in their Butterfly Adventure Vehicle to see the butterflies fly all the way to Mexico from the Great Lakes region. How cool is that gig?
The Kratts do have some villains, however. Chef Gaston Gourmand is one of them. The Chef likes to cook delicious dishes out of the variety of animals that the Kratt brothers enjoy studying. Not too cool for a chef. In fact, the Chef lost his license because many of the animals that he cooked were endangered species. However, the Kratt brothers do a great job of fending off the animals away from this evil villain.
If your child is into adventure and animals, this is definitely the show for him or her to watch. Not to mention, if they are a devout fan, you may wanna pick up a little gift for him or her. Like character backpacks that you can personalize, a tote bag, or birthday invite. You never know, your child just may be the coolest kid at school!
With most of the holidays behind us, it is a good time to reflect on friends, family, and more. If you have good friends, most likely your friends have great character. Many people are drawn to those with great character.
Caillou was a character that was created in 1990 by French author Christine L’Heureux and illustrator Hélène Desputeaux. Christine wanted to encourage children to develop their own unique characteristics while growing in peace with others and the world around them. She also wanted to depart from the normal practice of using animals in children’s books, and instead used a more identifiable component- humans themselves. Her reasoning was that children could better relate to the stories that she was telling with a human, instead of an animal. Was she right? How does your little one relate to Caillou? Feel free to leave your comments below.
Caillou encourages your children to explore the world around them, to use their imagination, and to have adventures. There’s nothing like using your imagination to solve a problem as opposed to playing hours of shoot ‘em up video games. Which way would you rather have your child spend his or her time? Click here to check out fun games and how to build with Caillou.
Last but not least, for cool Caillou stuff, check out the items on our website. All of the clothing can be personalized. It’s pretty much just awesome.
It’s time to chase after the dinosaurs like Dino Dan! Dan is an observant 10 year old paleontologist-in-training who sees dinosaurs when normally nobody else does. Sometimes his dog can see them. Sometimes his younger brother can see them. But mostly, only Dan can see them.
If you want to learn more about dinosaurs, this is definitely the show to watch! Dan uses the power of scientific method to determine characteristics about dinosaurs. That is, he forms a hypothesis, gathers evidence, conducts experiments, and draws a conclusion. This teaches children the power of deduction. It doesn’t get much easier than that! Children will be able to learn from this show and conduct their own experiments at home.
Speaking of which, we have the perfect Dino Dan merchandise. From awesome clothing which you can personalize, to wall art, the water bottles, we have it all! Unfortunately, the dinosaurs are not included.
