Your One Stop Shop for Party Supplies

Does your child have a birthday coming up? Are you helping someone plan a birthday party for his or her child? It can be frustrating to find everything that you need in one location.  Let Ty’s Toy Box be your one stop destination for all your party supply needs!  If you order from Ty’s Toy Box, you won’t even have to leave the house.

Ty’s Toy Box was created to meet the demand for finding rare toys and party supplies. We have a vast selection of Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies, Caillou, and Super Why, to name a few. We have Yo Gabba Gabba wall decorations, piñatas, and even the glasses that DJ Lance himself wears (Don’t be surprised if your kids act just like DJ Lance with them on!).

For Caillou party supplies, we actually have a Dinosaur Edible Icing Cake Topper! We also have a lovely Caillou Centerpiece. Party favors include sticker sheets that come with 6 scenes from Caillou.  Who doesn’t like stickers? It’s a fun favor that’s sure not to disappoint!

You can make each child feel super awesome when they receive their Super Why Birthday Invitation.  We also have birthday yard signs that will announce your child’s party, which can be personalized.  Last but not least, help your little man make his Superhero entrance with our Super Why! Birthday Boy to the Rescue! Red Super Tee!  This comes with a removable cape, to make him feel extra special and let everyone know it’s his big day.

Who are you gonna make feel special today?

New Caillou Products

Attention hockey fans!  We have introduced a new product into the Caillou product line: The Youth Hockey Jersey! Caillou loves winter sports.  You can show your support of this adorable 4 year old by sporting his shirt and joining him on the ice with his friends Clementine and Leo.  Caillou’s Youth Hockey Jersey features a large “C” on the front and is based on the Canadian TV Series.

We also have introduced the Caillou Bath Time Sail Boat. Included are figures Caillou and Rexy which actually float! The sailboat actually makes waves because it comes with a string that you can wind up to propel the sailboat forward.  This toy is wonderful because it helps to stimulate creativity, the imagination, and refine motor skills. A helpful hint for when you buy this toy is: keep all of the parts together in a plastic bin after bath time. Because there are multiple parts, they can get easily lost in the bath!  (That way, when your child goes to take a bath, there will be no tantrum over missing parts.)

Furthermore, with spring coming, a good project to work on with your children is planting a garden.  While still indoors, you can help cultivate an interest in gardening with the Caillou Green House Playset. This playset includes more than 20 pieces, including the gardener Caillou and Gilbert!  Your children can be just like Caillou, planting things and watching them grow.

Caillou shows are airing on PBS Kids.  If you are looking for more fun winter indoor activities in addition to episodes of Caillou, try the PBS Kids website.  There is a puzzle game, a memory game, and a magic keyboard, all of which are quite fun for young children.  Click here for games and activities, all of which are educational.

Caillou Holds the Character Card

With most of the holidays behind us, it is a good time to reflect on friends, family, and more.  If you have good friends, most likely your friends have great character.  Many people are drawn to those with great character.

Caillou was a character that was created in 1990 by French author Christine L’Heureux and illustrator Hélène Desputeaux.  Christine wanted to encourage children to develop their own unique characteristics while growing in peace with others and the world around them.  She also wanted to depart from the normal practice of using animals in children’s books, and instead used a more identifiable component- humans themselves.  Her reasoning was that children could better relate to the stories that she was telling with a human, instead of an animal. Was she right? How does your little one relate to Caillou?  Feel free to leave your comments below.

Caillou encourages your children to explore the world around them, to use their imagination, and to have adventures.  There’s nothing like using your imagination to solve a problem as opposed to playing hours of shoot ‘em up video games.  Which way would you rather have your child spend his or her time?  Click here to check out fun games and how to build with Caillou.

Last but not least, for cool Caillou stuff, check out the items on our website. All of the clothing can be personalized. It’s pretty much just awesome.

Cookie Jar’s growing berry big

I remember thinking that “Cookie Jar” was a great name for a company dealing in kids’ entertainment. Cute, but not cloying. Evoking pleasant visions of a small treat. Perfect!

And, of course, I encountered them right here at Ty’s Toy Box, because Cookie Jar was becoming a household name on account of a little property know as The Doodlebops. Remember them? (Oh, I’m so funny.) And then, of course, they also own Caillou.

So it’s not that Cookie Jar wasn’t a real player, before now. Merely that they were… smallish. Maybe medium. But that’s all about to change. Not only is Cookie Jar merging with DIC Entertainment, now they’re acquiring some American Greetings properties as well:

[T]he children’s entertainment company will acquire AG’s evergreen properties Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears and Sushi Pack for $195 million.

As someone close to this decision might say, that’s a berry exciting piece of news.

(Okay, I’ll stop with the Strawberry Shortcake jokes. They’re just so easy!)

The transaction establishes Cookie Jar as one of the world’s largest independent children’s entertainment and education companies with ownership and licensing rights to some of the world’s most recognizable character brands, an animation library totaling nearly 6,000 half-hours of family programming, and strong capabilities in global merchandising and licensing.

Congratulations to Cookie Jar on the merger, the acquisitions, and on generally making expanding and thriving in licensing children’s entertainment properties look good!

Fun with Caillou

If you have a preschooler, chances are that you know Caillou. In fact, the very mention of his name probably causes the theme song to the show to lodge itself in your brain. (I’m sorry.) Little kids love Caillou, because Caillou is just like them.

Well, except for the baldness. Most four-year-olds aren’t bald. But Caillou might just be very fashion forward.

Anyway, you’ve likely already been all over the PBS Kids Caillou site, but did you know that Caillou has his own official site, too? You can keep tabs on the live tour, play Caillou games, and sign up for his fan club.

Of course, there’s all sorts of goodies to be had at the Ty’s Toy Box Caillou Store, too. It’s been a few years since I had a preschooler, but it seems to me from what I remember of that time that something like a favorite character on a personalized shirt is pretty much preschooler Nirvana. I mean, come on, both your very own name alongside your favorite four-year-old? The only way that could get better would be if the shirt came with a bag of Goldfish crackers, right?

Come to think of it, that’s a pretty good idea. I need to suggest that to Ty….
