You know what Thursday is, right? Right? No, I’m not talking about Valentine’s Day—although yes, okay, it’s Valentine’s Day—I’m talking about the opening of The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. If you have a child (or a television), you already know this. My ears, they bleed from the constant refrain of “Can we go see Spiderwick when it gets here? Can we? Please? Pleeeeeeeeease??? Mom? Mom?? Mom, are you listening to meeeeeee?”
Suffice it to say that we’re a little excited.
We’re a little excited here at Ty’s, too, because we’ve got an entire Spiderwick Chronicles Store, full of the various books—of course—including The Official Movie Companion and the Movie Storybook if you’re into those sorts of things (as well as the original books, if you’re a purist).
My children aren’t excited about the books, because we already have them. No, they’ve got something else on their minds. I’ll give you three guesses, and the first two don’t count….
Hmmmmm, I wonder what it could be that they’re wanting. I just cannot remember. Let me think. Oh! That’s right! They’re demanding Spiderwick action figures. And really, can you blame them? I mean, who doesn’t want their very own Hogsqueal? I sort of want one for my desk. (Actually, if we’re being honest, here, that’s not true. I want about a dozen Hogsqueals for my desk. No one would bother my stuff anymore, methinks.)
No need to thank me.
