					<description>I think the &quot;on ice&quot; performances draw a crowd that they might not otherwise get with a live stage show.  And (not so much the case with HS Musical) it gives them a framework/gimmick for a show lacking in plot, where it's more of a showcase of dance numbers.  Whatever the case, it's clearly a big money-maker.

We saw a Disney on Ice show a couple years ago and it was surprisingly good (this from the wife of a theatre professor who is super-critical of any live performance).</description>
